Most important advice you’d give to new Parker College students: Cherish your time as a Parker College student, and take this time to grow not only educationally, but as a person. Get out of your comfort zone! Make friends in your classes, participate in activities that benefit the community, and join organizations that will take you one step closer to your ultimate career and life’s goals!

Most important advice you’d give to new Parker College students: Be present. Stay humble. Express gratitude. Most important advice you’d give to new Parker College students: As a transfer student, my most important advice for new Parker College students is to not be afraid to ask questions and be noticed by your professors. During my first semester at Georgia Southern, I was told by a very wise Parker College professor how important it is to get on faculty’s radar. Don’t be afraid to go to office hours with questions or just to further get to know your professor. They truly want to help their students succeed, but they need to see you show you are committed. Their knowledge, experience, and connections are key to getting your name out there and can be very helpful throughout your career, especially at the beginning.

Most important advice you’d give to new Parker College students: Do as much as possible without spreading yourself too thin. This is the time for you to splurge and indulge in yourself and your future. Study abroad, sign up for that intramural, or even add that minor you’ve been on the fence about. Step out of your comfort zone from time to time and truly find what is it that brings you joy.
