Biography

Ivy Sun, lecturer, joined the faculty at Georgia Southern University in August 2019. While working on her Ph.D., she served as an instructor in Purdue University’s School of Hospitality and Tourism Management. Ivy also served as a guest services manager at TownePlace Suites by Marriott in Indianapolis, Indiana, a supervisor at Purdue Cary Knight Spot Grill in West Lafayette, Indiana, and a restaurant manager at Sheraton Guilin Hotel in Guilin, China. As an undergraduate, she assisted with a National Science Fund project on sustainable development of tourism while studying at Wuhan University.

Ivy is a Certified ServSafe® instructor, a registered ServSafe proctor, and Certified ServSafe Alcohol®. She is multi-lingual, speaking Chinese, English, and Japanese. In addition, Ivy enjoys ballroom dancing and watercolor and gouache painting.
