Biography

Steve Charlier is an associate professor and chair of the Department of Management at Georgia Southern University. He held a variety of managerial positions in the information technology/consulting, automotive, and entertainment industries prior to joining academia. He has been a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) since 2003, and has consulted with a number of organizations, including various federal government agencies and non-profit organizations. Steve’s research interests are focused on the modern work environment, and include virtual teams, e-learning, leadership in a virtual world, and management education. His work has been published in several leading international academic journals, and has been featured in popular press outlets like Forbes, Inc., Entrepreneur, and the BBC, among others. Steve is currently an associate editor for Human Resource Management, and is also a member of the editorial boards for Academy of Management Learning & Education, Journal of Management Education, and Organization Management Journal
