Biography

Jake Simons, professor, retired as a lieutenant colonel following 20 years on active duty in the Air Force, working in fighter aircraft maintenance, software development, and graduate education. He came to Georgia Southern in 1997 from a tenured faculty position at the Air Force Institute of Technology. Simons published papers in journals such as Journal of Operations Management, OMEGA, International Journal of Production Research, Production and Operations Management and Journal of Service Research. His hobbies are playing with dogs, tinkering with mechanical things, watching college sports and serving with Kiwanis Club of Statesboro. Simons and his wife, Carol, have three sons.
