Intermodal is the movement of cargo in shipping containers or trailers by more than one mode of transportation to maximize service levels and minimize costs. The Logistics and Intermodal Transportation (LIT) emphasis has a strong natural fit with the region’s hubs of economic activity: the Georgia Ports Authority in conjunction with major railroad, trucking, ocean cargo, airfreight and warehousing companies. The LIT program of study begins with courses focused on transportation and supply chain concepts and principles and builds into advanced courses in logistics operations, international logistics and intermodal distribution management.
