YAB Member Leads Management Students Through Case Study

by David Sikora

Hannah Steed

Hannah Steed (MGMT, 2012), change manager at Milliken & Company and Young Alumni board member, was a guest speaker in two sections of David Sikora’s, Ph.D., professor of management, strategic human resource management class. The course focuses on developing and implementing employee management practices that align with a firm’s business strategy. Accordingly, the class typically works in small teams on various people management case studies.

Today, Hannah spoke to the class about her experiences in helping Milliken & Company managers effectively address both the people management and technical issues involved in implementing new corporate practices and programs. She worked with the students on a case study focused on implementing organizational change. Hannah demonstrated a process for improving the effectiveness of new corporate initiatives and then had the students work through a case study by applying this same process.

Overall, Hannah’s presentation was a big success. Not only did the students enjoy hearing from her they also enjoyed the case study. It was a great way to start wrapping up this course.
