Honors Scholarships
The following scholarships are awarded to incoming freshman students who have a minimum 1200 SAT score and a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Recipients are selected from those interviewing during Southern Scholars Showcase and Scholars’ Day.
Parker College of Business General Scholarship (Fund #3319)
The recipients must be enrolled fulltime in a major offered in the Parker College of Business.
Paul and Ivey Beardslee Scholarship (Fund #3628)
Preference shall be given to an incoming freshman from Bryan County High School or to a Bryan County resident, pursuing a degree in Information Systems. Should there be no eligible recipient(s), the scholarship may be made available to students from Bryan County High School pursuing a degree within the Parker College of Business.
Robert F. Morris, Sr. Business Scholarship (Fund #3331)
Recipient must be an outstanding and deserving entering freshman enrolled in a major offered in the Parker College of Business.
Russell and Aliese Priddy/Price Foundation Scholarship (Fund #3314)
Recipient must be a high school senior who has expressed an interest in majoring in finance.
William A. Freeman Distinguished Chair of Free Enterprise (Fund #3456)
Recipient must be of highest integrity and must demonstrate excellence in scholarship.
Dean’s Scholarships
David R. Edwards Endowment for Career Development (Fund #3864)
This scholarship is available to Parker College of Business students to participate in a career-related internship. This funding may be used to offset the cost of professional internships that provide minimal compensation or are in locations where the cost of living is prohibitive. Recipients must have an internship set up and approved by the Parker College of Business, must have demonstrated financial need, must demonstrate a record of strong academic, leadership, and/or career development performance, and are preferably involved in the University’s Greek Life or other campus life activities.
Duke Kramer MBA Graduate Assistantship (Fund #3614)
This scholarship is available to students pursuing an MBA who have obtained an undergraduate degree in music, preferably from a university other than Georgia Southern. In case of multiple candidates, preference will be given to the student with the highest overall undergraduate GPA.
Earle D. Cummings Memorial Scholarship (Fund #3612)
Recipient must be a full time undergraduate student enrolled in a major offered in the Parker College of Business with a minimum GPA of 3.0 in all attempted Parker College of Business courses. Preference will be given to rising or existing seniors.
Evelyn Spain Coe Memorial Scholarship (Fund #3385)
This scholarship will be awarded on a competitive basis each year to an outstanding, non-traditional female student enrolled in a major within the Parker College of Business. Applicants must be at the junior or senior level, be of high moral character, and be considered leaders among their peers. Scholarships will be given without regard to race, religion or area of residency.
Howard Lumber Business Scholarship (Fund #3622)
This scholarship is available to rising or existing seniors enrolled in the Parker College of Business pursuing any major. Preference may be given to students who have designated entrepreneurship/small business concentration in management. Consideration may be given to students who are employees or children of employees of Howard Lumber Company and meet the existing criteria.
Lon Carnes/Delta Sigma Pi Scholarship (Fund #3223)
This scholarship is available to undergraduate members in good standing with the local Chapter of Delta Sigma Pi Fraternity. Recipient must be enrolled fulltime during the award period with a minimum GPA of 2.6 and must have shown a willingness to be active in the chapter.
Marcia White Jones Scholarship (Fund #3695)
This scholarship is available to freshmen, business majors with high school GPAs ranging from 2.5 to 2.99 and who reside in Bulloch County, GA, or an adjoining county. Preference will be given to students who have completed the Education Talent Search or Upward Bound programs and demonstrate need based on family income. Strongest consideration will be given to those students who demonstrate significant community involvement.
PMG Scholarship (Fund #3738)
Recipients of this scholarship shall be either a rising sophomore, junior, or senior working toward a major within the Parker College of Business.
Robert T. Cox Scholarship (Fund #3555)
The scholarship is given to a rising junior and to a rising senior. Each recipient must be a Georgia resident, working toward a degree from the Parker College of Business, have excelled academically, and be involved with extracurricular/leadership activities.
W.E. Carter Chair in Business Administration Scholarship (Fund #3422)
The recipient must be of highest integrity, demonstrate excellence in scholarship, and must be a resident of Georgia. Scholarship committee must consist of the dean of the Parker College of Business and the W.E. Carter Chair holder.
William T. Herring MBA Scholarship (Fund #3659)
Recipient must be a full-time, campus-based, MBA student who does not have a full-time job. First preference will be given to students with an undergraduate degree in an area other than business. Second preference will be given to students with at least one year of work experience prior to enrolling in the MBA program.

Accounting Scholarship Fund (Fund #0562)
The School of Accountancy sets the criteria for these awards which are given out on Accounting Day.
Billy and JoAnn Hickman Master of Accounting Scholarship (Fund #3681)
This scholarship is available to students who have completed an undergraduate degree at Georgia Southern University and are in the campus-based MAcc (Master of Accounting) program. Recipients must have a 3.4 undergraduate GPA in their accounting courses and must have an overall 3.25 GPA. First preference is given to first generation students from rural Georgia, which excludes high population areas such as Atlanta Metro and surrounding counties, Athens, Macon, Columbus, Augusta, and Savannah
Draffin and Tucker, LLP School of Accountancy Scholarship (Fund #3610)
Recipients must be full-time students who have completed at least two upper division accounting courses. First preference will be given to juniors. Candidates should have a minimum GPA of 3.0 in all attempted accounting courses and should preferably be from Southwest Georgia, including related regions in Alabama and Florida. Recipients should have an interest in pursuing a career in a CPA firm.
Paul G. LaGrone Accounting Scholarship (Fund #3264)
A recipient must be a full-time accounting major who has attained the status of junior with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA and a grade of B or better in Intermediate Accounting I. Candidate shall be required by the selection committee to take one or more specific courses in writing and speech as a condition of receiving the scholarship. Such communication courses should be considered a necessary component of an accounting student’s complete and proper education.
Porter, Keadle, Moore Scholarship (Fund #3497)
Recipient must be at the junior class level, maintain a GPA of 3.33, and intending to pursue an initial career in public accounting.
Sharon Jester Ponder Accounting Scholarship (Fund #3740)
Recipients of this scholarship should be either a junior or a senior majoring in accounting. Preference will be given to minority female students.
Department of Economics
H. Russell Martin, Jr. Award (Fund #3065)
The H. Russell Martin, Jr. Award for Outstanding Achievement in Economics will be given annually to an economics major at the Armstrong State University Awards Convocation. The recipient will be a rising senior who has demonstrated the potential to make important contributions in the area of applied economics or entrepreneurship and will be selected by a committee which includes one member of the Martin family. The award will include the student’s name on a permanent plaque in the department, an individual certificate or plaque, and a cash award. The cash award will be determined by the interest on the endowment in any given year and can be used for student development, such as travel to professional meetings, workshops, publications, graduate school applications, and memberships.
Lillian A. Hood Scholarship (Fund #3048)
This scholarship is awarded annually to a student selected among those that meet the following criteria: A rising sophomore, junior, or senior in good academic standing in the Economics major; a proven performance and/or support for a competitive Economics Team, with a minimum GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale; a full-time student at Georgia Southern University.
Mary Foy Space Award (Fund #3100)
The Mary Foy Space Scholarship for Economics will be awarded annually to an economics major to pay tribute to Mary Foy Space’s exceptional career as one of the first women stock brokers in the United States. Recipients will be selected according to the following criteria: Female student enrolled at Armstrong State University; have earned at least 60 credit hours at time of award (Junior or Senior standing) but does not possess a Bachelor Science/Arts or equivalent from any accredited University; declared major in Economics or Business Economics; scholarship is renewable for up to two years as long as the student continues to meet the award criteria.
Robert E. Lee Morgan Scholarship (Fund #2668)
The Robert E. Lee Morgan Scholarship will be awarded annually to an economics major to pay tribute to Professor Morgan, a beloved former Professor of Accounting at Armstrong who touched the lives of many of his students. Recipients will be selected according to the following criteria: undergraduate students who are rising juniors or rising seniors; enrolled in the Business Economics or Economics or similar degree program; demonstrated an ability in the area of accounting.
Department of Enterprise Systems and Analytics
Picket-Garvin Scholarship in Information Systems (Fund #3516)
Recipients must have completed at least 75 semester hours at an accredited institution of higher education and have been admitted to Georgia Southern University. Candidates must have a minimum adjusted GPA of 3.0 and must have declared Information Systems as a major. Special consideration will be given to non-traditional students.
Susan Rebstock Williams Business Technology Scholarship (Fund #3674)
First preference shall be offered to a female student majoring in Information Systems who has completed a minimum of 45 undergraduate or 9 graduate semester hours. Recipient should have a minimum GPA of 3.0. If the candidate is a transfer student, then he/she must have completed a minimum of 15 undergraduate hours or 9 graduate semester hours at Georgia Southern University.
Department of Finance
Paul Kidd Memorial Scholarship (Fund #3322)
Recipient must major in finance. The Department’s scholarship committee sets additional criteria.
Department of Logistics & Supply Chain Management
Atlanta Air Cargo Association Scholarship (Fund #3509)
This scholarship is available to students majoring in International Trade, Logistics, and Intermodal Transportation with a cumulative GPA of 2.5.
Department of Management
Mark Anderson Scholarship in Business (Fund #3562)
Recipient must be a student actively pursuing a degree from the Parker College of Business with a GPA of at least 3.0. Student must be of high moral character and considered a leader among his/her peers. Selection will be made without regard to age, race, area of residence, marital status, or religious preference.
Leonard and Betty Blount Scholarship for Entrepreneurship Students (Fund #3611)
This scholarship is available to students majoring in Management who have designated a concentration in Entrepreneurship/Small Business Management. Students should have a GPA of 3.0 in all business courses attempted. Preference should be given to juniors or rising juniors.
Department of Marketing
Giacomo Family Memorial Scholarship (Fund #3685)
This scholarship is awarded to outstanding students majoring in Marketing or Marketing with an emphasis in Sales and Sales Management. Recipient must be a junior during the fall semester of the award period. Recipients must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 with a 3.0 in the major if applicable.
Jane White Marketing Scholarship (Fund #3684)
This scholarship is available to juniors with a declared major of Marketing. Candidates must have a cumulative GPA of 2.8 and a minimum GPA of 3.0 in all Marketing courses attempted. Students must demonstrate evidence of significant participation in extracurricular activities, especially in leadership roles.
William Bolen Retailing Scholarship (Fund #3541)
This scholarship is available to students majoring in Marketing with an emphasis in Retail Management or Fashion Merchandising. Recipients should be juniors, with GPAs of 3.0 or above, and must be enrolled fulltime. Preference should be given to Marketing students who are active participants in the College’s retail or fashion merchandising clubs, competitions, or organizations.
